Hotjar not loading on Firefox 77 and below

On 2020-07-14 at 14:27 UTC our engineers identified an issue with users being unable to login to Hotjar from Firefox.

What happened?

Users on Firefox 77 and below were not able to access Hotjar. They would see a blank screen instead. This issue lasted between 08:00 UTC until we resolved the issue at 15:20 UTC.

Your website should not have been affected by this change.

Why did this issue occur?

This issue was caused by a change that used browser features not available in Firefox 77 and below.

Resolved

On 14th July 2020 at 14:27 UTC, our engineers were made aware of an issue where users could not login to Hotjar if they were using Firefox 77 and below.

This issue began at around 08:00 UTC and was resolved at 15:20 UTC.

The cause was a change made to the Hotjar Admin Interface that utilised features that were not supported in Firefox versions 77 and below.

You website should not have been affected.
