On 14/07/2021 at 08:42 UTC we identified an issue with degraded performance and data ingestion after our extended maintenance window.
What happened? Between 8:42 UTC and 10:58 UTC, we were experiencing degraded performance on our tools as well as data ingestion.
Why did this issue occur? We had a scheduled maintenance period to perform a database migration, which needed to be extended. After it was finished our engineers detected a regression affecting the performance of the Hotjar app and data ingestion and reverted to the previous configuration.
What will we do to prevent this from happening in the future?
We will hold an internal postmortem to establish any relevant follow-up actions.
