What happened?
On December 17th, 2021, at 13:03 UTC, we identified an issue where Site creation/deletion processes were timing out. We implemented a fix at 13:56 UTC and Site creation and deletion returned to normal operations.

Why did this issue occur?
During a code deployment, a bug was accidentally introduced that caused the requests to time out when communicating with other services.

What will we do to prevent this from happening in the future?
We will hold an internal postmortem to establish any relevant follow-up actions.

Following a deployment, the site creation and deletion processes were timing out. We’ve identified the issue and our engineers are working to resolve it.
