On 12.04.2021 at 12:10 UTC our engineers identified an issue with our Slack integration, where the survey responses would not be sent into the configured Slack channels.
What happened?
For the duration of the incident, messages about new Hotjar survey responses would not be sent. There was no data loss - all the responses are available for viewing in your Insights dashboard.
Why did this issue occur?
On 7.04.2021 we deployed a change to the Hotjar application. Part of this change caused the communication between our Survey system and the Slack integration to be unintentionally broken.
What will we do to prevent this from happening in the future?
We will hold an internal post mortem to find ways of preventing similar issues from happening.
