On 28th April, 2019 at 8.40am UTC our engineers identified an issue with links in Recordings playback not being displayed.

What happened?

When we capture content from a website to display in a recording, we create a map of all elements and how they can be interacted with. Due to an update, the content inside normal links ( tags) were not captured correctly.

Why did this issue occur?

On Friday we introduced support for Shadow DOM elements. This change caused the bug described above.

What will we do to prevent this from happening in the future?

We will hold an internal postmortem and update this report later.
