On 10/11/2021 at 09:44 UTC a database migration caused a temporary interruption to data ingestion and access to Hotjar.

What happened?
The database migration caused a series of errors related to data ingestion and access. This prevented user access to the Hotjar dashboard as well as proper ingestion of data from sessions, causing it to be discarded. Our monitoring services immediately alerted us to the issue and the changes were reverted at 09:48 UTC. 

What will we do to prevent this from happening in the future?
We will hold an internal postmortem to establish any relevant follow-up actions.
