On 07.01.2021 at 1:15 PM UTC our engineers identified an issue with the Hotjar application and script delivery.
The Hotjar application was unavailable for a short period of time (approximately 2 minutes). During that same period, the performance of the Hotjar script delivery was degraded. It is possible that your website may have experienced minor performance degradation and some sessions were not captured during that time.
Why did this issue occur?
One of the AWS services supporting Hotjar experienced two brief outages. These outages had an adverse impact on the Hotjar application and script delivery.
What will we do to prevent this from happening in the future?
We’re working with AWS to determine the cause of the service outages.
